Mistakenly Learned

Yutang Lin

Difficulty in reaching enlightenment could win sympathy.
Lack of self-reflection under delusion could not be helped.
In arrogant rage cutting off relations without good reasons,
How could fence building be in accord with emancipation?

Comment:

Enlightenment would be hard to reach only because time is easily wasted. To be effective in Dharma practices one needs to be able to reflect on one's prejudices and grasping. The path to emancipation consists of getting rid of greed, anger and ignorance. If a practitioner's actions have already deviated from the right path, and yet self-reflection is still lacking, then he or she has learned the Dharma mistakenly.
