Upside-down

Yutang Lin

Non-self is the basic truth clearly taught by Buddha;
The goal of practice is to be free of self-centeredness.
With intentions and efforts always aiming at oneself,
How could anyone set foot on the path of awakening?

Comment:

Whoever intends to attain enlightenment should often reflect if one is working toward selflessness, or just fooling around within the self-centered circle? If one could not stay away from the confines of self, how could one ever step on the path of awakening?
