Indoors, Outdoors

Yutang Lin

Where is the formless gate of the Dharma?
With grasping in mind one walks astray.
Practice diligently to purify thought after thought,
Without falling into the circus of illusions.

Comment:

The gate of the Dharma cannot be defined by form. Whatever is in accordance with no grasping and liberation would be called "indoors," "on the path." A practitioner should purify thought after thought carefully, without drifting in the ocean of names, appearances and worldly considerations.
