Great Use born of Silence

Yutang Lin

All things are originally silent and free from entanglement;
Wondrous uses lively arise, pure and natural.
Mind is set on all sentient beings and thus rid of complaint;
Content with conditions met to evolve into a river of Bodhi.

Comment:

All things are originally silent; it could be experienced only after long-term practice. Lively uses out of silence are originally only natural. On the path of Bodhi, one should harmonize "mind set on all sentient beings" and "getting rid of grasping" into one. With neither complaint nor longing, simply content with situations met, and let Bodhi intention and activities naturally flow and evolve into a river. Sentient beings that happen to come across this river will be benefited through irrigation, drinking and transportation.
