金剛上師林鈺堂瑜伽士開示錄 頗瓦渡亡
弟子來電郵，求開示頗瓦法對亡者的重要性，以便具有正確的修法動機，並且增長慈悲。她說，雖然自己能察覺墳場亡者眾都重視及歡迎她播放我修頗瓦的錄音帶，卻不明白此中的道理，並且也不了解頗瓦加持過的米對亡者有何用途，請我說明。 亡者隨所造宿業，或罪或福，而流轉六道；必須等到宿業消盡，才能超脫輪迴。具證德之修行人修頗瓦法，基於純正菩提心，傳遞諸佛菩薩及歷代傳承祖師之加持力量，能為亡者眾消業，令得回歸本來清淨。但是眾生業障深淺各異，以致各別領到的加持效果也有差別，所以有些一經修法便得往生，而有些則需多修幾次，並多做功德，方得清淨。 頗瓦加持過的米，簡稱「頗瓦米」，對亡者眾來說，便是佛法加持之甘露，領之便得消業增福之利益。所以我們在墳場及亡者遺體上都可撒之。 願以此說明，幫助具有正信之大眾，早得解脫輪迴之道！ 頗瓦超渡：http://www.originalpurity.org/powa.html

Powa Saves Deceased Beings
A disciple sent me an email asking for teachings on the importance of Powa service to deceased beings so that people will have correct motivation in participating in this service and thereby cultivate compassion for deceased beings. She wrote, even though she is able to sense that all deceased beings in the cemeteries welcome and pay attention to her playing the audio tape of me practicing Powa; however, she cannot comprehend why it is so. Besides, she also fails to comprehend what is the use of Powa-blessed rice to the deceased beings, and she asked me to explain it. Deceased beings transmigrate in the six realms of life-and-death according to their karmas, sinful or meritorious; not until all karmas are extinguished can they become free from such transmigration. When Dharma practitioners who have attained realizations conduct Powa service, based on genuine Bodhicitta, they can thereby convey the blessing powers of all Buddhas, Bodhisattvas and lineage Gurus to extinguish karmas of the deceased beings so that they may resume their original purity. However, sentient beings have variegated degrees of karmic hindrances, and consequently, the resulting effects of having received the Powa blessing also varies. Therefore, for some one service is enough for gaining rebirth in Pureland, while for some it will take several Powa services and additional accumulation of merits to become fully purified. Rice blessed by Powa service are called ″Powa rice″. To deceased beings, they are blessing nectar of Dharma because receiving them will result in reduction of karma and accumulation of merits. Therefore, on cemetery grounds or bodies of deceased beings we may scatter Powa rice. May this explanation serve to help people with correct faith to reach the path of liberation from transmigration sooner!
