一切一體無限,在直接經驗裡,本來如此;萬象互為因緣,或顯或隠,本無去來。佛法修證之極致,只是回歸此本來境界;一切一體之際,無從比較,因而無有高低,故曰:「法法平等」。

依佛法修行,證達「人無我」——離於「我相」、「人相」、「眾生相」及「壽者相」,以及「法無我」,則證悟「眾生平等」以及「有情、無情平等」。

根本上「無我」,故無可執實;因此,眾生言行及心行皆只是愚迷因緣之顯現。佛、菩薩的教化,只是在愚迷因緣的顯現中,自然的本淨反應。因此,佛、菩薩的教化不限於任何特定的對象,而是平等垂慈,有教無類。

Equal

All are in limitless oneness; in direct experiences it is originally thus. All phenomena are causally mutually dependent; even though some are present, and some are unnoticeable, basically there is neither coming nor leaving. The ultimate realization in Dharma practice is just returning to this original state. In ″all in oneness″ there is no way to compare, and hence there is neither higher nor lower, hence it is said in Dharma, ″all are equal″.

Practicing in accordance with Dharma, when ″person without self″—free from concepts of self, person, sentient being and living being, and ″dharma (thing) without self″ are both realized, then one realizes that ″all sentient beings are equal″ and that ″all sentient beings and non-sentient things are equal″.

Fundamentally there is no ″self″, and hence nothing to be grasped as real; therefore, speeches, behaviors and mentalities of sentient beings are simply display of causal conditions of ignorance and delusion. The preaching and salvation activities of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are merely natural responses, born of original purity, to display of causal conditions of ignorance and delusion. Therefore, the conversion and teaching of Buddhas and Bodhisattvas are not confined to any particular kind of sentient beings but are mercifully and equally for all sentient beings without specifications.
