正見圓融善開導，
實修履歷知淺深，
法行應機攝眾廣，
證悟同體加持遍。
如斯上師難值遇，
常隨佛學蒙薰染，
母子相憶不違遠，
香光莊嚴達圓通。

跋

弟子請示常隨師學之益為何，因作此偈回應。成佛乃徹底之轉變，不宜「閉門造車」而留滯於自以為是之中，應當常隨師側，而得以學習佛法在種種處境中之應用，因之飽經薰染，漸由形似而達神肖。

Right views all harmonized
        Skillful in providing guidance
Actually practiced personally
        Knowing the depths and shallows
Dharma activities meeting the needs of beings
        Many from far and wide have been converted
Comprehended and realized oneness of all
        Blessings reach out to all
A Guru like this is rare to be found
        One should seize the opportunity to be near
Learning in attendance one will be transformed
Like being scented or dyed through contact
Mother and child mutually remember each other
        They will not be in discord far apart
Fragrance and light adornment prevailing
        One will surely attain full enlightenment

Comments:

A disciple asked me to explain the benefits of learning from a Guru through constant attendance, and hence I wrote this Gatha in reply. Becoming a Buddha is a process of complete transformation, and hence it is not suitable to "construct a vehicle within closed doors" and thereby stay stagnant within one's own understanding of what is right. One should follow the Guru constantly in attendance, and thereby gain the opportunities to learn how to apply Dharma properly in all kinds of situations. Thus one may become fully saturated in knowing how to properly conduct Dharma practices and activities, and then gradually transform from resemblance to Guru in appearance to kindred in spirit.
