人事中　心難得靜
種種思慮　不知不覺中帶著枷鎖
獨處久了
心中塵埃方得落地
不復在習以為常的思路上繞圈子
才有可能抬頭看到
心地中的青天

在沒有看透自心中的世網之前
哪有可能開展視野與胸懷
哪有機會了解其他有情的處境
更談不上進一步生起同情與關懷

老是身不由己地受到牽絆
又怎能專心投入菩提心行的長養
所謂「出離」
無非是爭取孤獨的時間與歲月
以便利用寂靜來清心
善用無擾來修行

孤單中的寂靜
是多麼地難得而可貴
想要不虛度人生的佛子
豈能不想方設法來爭取

Silence in Solitude

 

Yutang Lin

 

 

Amid human affairs
        Mind could hardly quiet down
All sorts of considerations
        Inadvertently cast one in shackles
Having been in solitude for long
Only then can dusts in mind fall to the ground
No longer running around on the track of thoughts that one is used to
Only then can one raise up one's head and see
The blue sky above one's field of mind

Before the worldly net in mind has been seen through
How could the panorama of mind be opened up and expanded
How could there be the opportunity for understanding other beings' situations
Not to mention the further steps of feeling sympathy and care for fellow beings

Always unwillingly be pulled, pushed and hindered
How could one concentrate and devote to the cultivation of Bodhicitta
The so-called "renunciation" in the Dharma sense is
Nothing but to seek for times and periods of solitude
So as to make good use of silence to cleanse one's mind
And to use freedom from interferences well for Dharma activities

Silence in Solitude
How rarely found and difficult to sustain in life
Dharma practitioners who would not waste this precious human existence
How could you not try to gain it by all means
