本性通 林鈺堂

遍觀眾生境遇苦,體會有情本性通;
非關形相無限量,入此真實見我妄。

觀想種種眾生之境遇,從而體會有情本性之共通。有情之心性,非形相、限量可局。體會其無限,自然看透我執之虛誕。

Common Nature Yutang Lin

Reflecting on all sorts of situations and sufferings of sentient beings,
One might comprehend that all sentient beings have common nature.
It has nothing to do with forms and shapes, but simply immeasurable.
Having entered this reality it is plain to see that self is an illusive idea.

Comment:

Reflecting on all sorts of situations that sentient beings go through, and thereby appreciate the similarity of basic nature of all sentient beings. Mind of sentient beings cannot be confined by shapes, nor measured. As one comprehends its boundlessness it is only natural for one to simultaneously see through the illusive nature of the notion of a self.
