可惜 林鈺堂

經載佛示不思議,奈何難捨蠅頭利;
抄襲編纂供書肆,無常忽臨悔莫及!

每見書肆中待售之佛籍,即為該等作者、編者生起惋惜之情。經中明載,佛陀慈示,志心弘法有不可思議功德。奈何捨純粹奉獻而沾染蠅利;無常忽臨之際,難免追悔莫及之惆悵。

It's a Pity! Yutang Lin

Buddha indicated in Sutras that the merits are inconceivable.
Alas! Benefits as tiny as a fly's head could not be renounced.
Plagiarized and compiled into products for bookstores to sell;
At the unsuspected arrival of death, regrets would be too late!

Comment:

Whenever I see Buddhist works on bookshelves in bookstores, I feel pity for those authors and editors. It is clearly recorded in Sutras that Buddhas and Bodhisattvas taught that, wholeheartedly propagating the teachings would result in inconceivable merits. Why would they, instead of offering pure services, get involved with tiny bits of worldly profits? Upon the unsuspected arrival of death they might feel sorry for unremediable regrets.
